Located in downtown Kuwait City, Al Hamra Tower, the splendidly tall skyscraper anchors a commercial complex which is comprised of offices, a health club and a high-end shopping mall with theaters and a food court. At 1,353 feet, the Al Hamra Tower, now the tallest building in Kuwait peeks through the clouds with its quarter-mile-high torqued form designed to maximize views and minimize solar heat gain. Other facts include the second tallest building in the Middle East, the second tallest concrete structure in the world, the fifth tallest office building in the world, and the twelfth tallest building in the world. The tower’s monumental facade faces south, where stone helps alleviate heat loading from the blistering sun. The rest of the tower is covered entirely in glass, maximizing views across Kuwait City. The total construction cost of Al Hamra Tower is speculated to be 180 Million Dinar.

The work in the tower was completed late last year, though finishing touches on tenant spaces and some of the public areas continue. The tower’s commercial space also includes a five-storey retail mall, spreading across 250,000 square feet of space, including an integrated 10-screen cinema complex and IMAX theatres, high-end retail shops, restaurants, cafes, food courts, entertainment areas, spread across four levels of the tower and an eleven storey Car-park. This shopping delight is already open for public and features exclusive stores not seen before in Kuwait - Versace Café, Hermes, Vera Wang to name but a few. A spa and Gym are also opened and members will be able to enjoy a roof garden in the top of the mall. The plaza outside the Luxury Center has the musical water fountain, where guests can enjoy while dining at one of the many cafes and restaurants.

The most popular and exciting addition of Al-Hamra Tower though, sits of course at the very top of the building. The top floor has the mesmerizing space, thirty meters high and covers 1600 meters squared which will offer a dining experience unmatched in Kuwait. Windows reach from the floor to the top limit and cover all the way around delivering a full panorama of the Gulf. The internal balconies, accessible by elevators, offer a private dining experience viewing the clouds.

There are more than 40 elevators and 9 of them are high speed shuttle elevators that can take you to the top in a few seconds, and there is a huge LED screen in the middle of the shopping mall, which is the largest in Kuwait. So whether you want to hit the designer stores, dine viewing the Kuwaiti skyline, or simply strain your neck looking up at this spectacular building, there is no denying it is an exciting and welcome addition to Kuwait’s skyline.
